1983.
Fujisaki Issei was a young man, not yet introduced into the musical business properly saying but he was working his way through it. He knew people who could help him though, people who made the work behind the stage and could introduce him to the right ones so he could skyrocket his career as a vocalist. And not simply that, he worked hard to do what he loved, in the exquisite way he adored, not caring about other's and their own visions of the world.
Issei was a handsome, talented lad with a voice smooth like white satin and looks that resembled his idol, David Bowie. His hair was short and ruffly in a shiny brunette shade, eyes brown like dark chocolate. He wore classy and classic eighties, pants tight, shirt creamy white and soft opened down to his stomach - just the beginning of it - and a satin, patterned crimson scarf around his neck in a fancy knot. He wore dark makeup that sharpened his features, Issei's killer eyes, mostly. His lips were flush like a pink rose, frame tall and slim.
And in slow steps, he entered the private party of one of the most stupidly famous bands of Japan. Most people in there he knew from magazines, from showbiz. He doubted he would be recognized, he was just starting his career after all...

Toshihiko had written one of the simplest songs of his thus far career and had shot the band to stardom in the blink of an eye. He didn't know who Mary-Ann was, but his mixture of Japanese, English, a soothing acoustic solo and a screaming guitar solo all with Sakurai's rich voice had been an even bigger hit than Love Letter. However, he had always felt Love Letter was deeper. Meant something to him more than this enigmatic Mary-Ann. He'd poured his heart into it, desperate for ALFEE to claw their way to the top. It had put them on the map, certainly, but it was Miss Mary-Ann then shined the spotlight on them. As he sat in a corner at his own concert's after party, he thought on this. Some guests were drunk, loudly singing the catchy tune. Sakurai was begging them to stop, claiming that it had been stuck in his head since it's creation. Sakazaki was busy drunkenly putting the moves on an amused Naoko Ken, whom they'd been a back band for until recent years. She'd kept them alive, even fed them on occasion. Toshihiko, however, was sitting by himself to avoid any more questions about the song. He rested his chin in his hand as he quietly puffed on a cigarillo, eyes scanning the faces in the room. He pursed his lips as they settled onto a face he knew, but name he did not, and took to watching the newcomer with veiled interest. He was handsome, young looking. Toshihiko wracked his brain for where he'd seen him before. |

Issay had a glass of red wine while he watched the other's guests pissing themselves drunk while singing the song that practically the whole Japan knew. It was a good tune, Issei thought, simply by being catchy. It was needed a very intelligent melody-maker, or song writer, to create a tune that the notes married so well into each other that it stuck into people's mind. Intelligent and talented. Issei was a... shy fan, per say, of who made that song.
And that would be the guitar man of the band, Takamizawa Toshihiko. Issei's eyes were scanning the crowd ever since he entered the party, to see if he found the figure around. He would never confess that he was a little nervous about being in such a well attended place.
He had found the tiniest man who made part of The Alfee. He had spotted also the moustached lad that had one of the best voices he had heard. The only one missing was...
Staring. At him. Issei held his breath for a long moment of mutual and awkward stare, his brows raising. Then, he turned away, feeling slightly nervous because, one, he was being stared by Toshihiko Takamizawa and it made his mind wonder and wander why... and two, because he had stared back. How professional of him.

His eyes widened when he realized that he was being stared at right back. Toshihiko quickly looked down, silently cursing himself for being caught. A tinge of pink rose to his cheeks and he suddenly became incredibly interested in the surface of the small table he currently sat at.
After a few seconds had passed, he surreptitiously glanced back up to the familiar stranger. Damn, he was still there. Toshihiko straightened in the chair slightly and offered the best he could do for making the situation awkward: a shy nod.

If Issay was close enough to see it, he would have loved to see the other man's cheeks turn pink like a couple of precious tulips. But, for the time being, he wondered why on heaven and earth Takamizawa was staring at him?
Maybe he found me cute, he thought. Sighs, he could always dream.
And in response, also, to that awkward little nod when Issay had also turned to see the other male and if he was still staring... he gave an awkward little chuckle himself and a sympathetic smile that practically said, I understand how you feel right now. Oh, and another nod back.

Toshihiko inhaled a shaky little breath. He was still getting used to fame, used to many people wanting to talk to him, and having to talk to many people. He gestured shyly to the empty seat across from him and rose his brows in the other's direction.
Well, he could at least ask him where he'd seen him before. Toshihiko snuffed out the cigarillo and went back to his glass of Hibiki.

Oh my. Now that was a big surprise. Takamizawa Toshihiko actually did just invite him to sit down on his table?
Not the best time to freeze, Issay. He soon was walking through the crowd, occasionally looking down to hide away any sort of smirk or such. And he did sat down after a low, polite "Excuse me." from his share.
"I'm Fujisaki Issei." A light head bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Takamizawa-san." He was much younger, after all.

Toshihiko peered up at the younger man with a meek smile and a nod. "It's nice to meet you too, Fujisaki-san," he murmured, taking a sip of the whiskey once more.
"I'm sorry you had to catch me staring at you." The guitarist tried to control his blush. "I just... thought I recognized you from somewhere."

Issay's brows rose and his face twisted into something that seemed much like... concern and preoccupation. For someone he just met, yeah, that was certainly him. "Please, don't worry... it wasn't also the best shot to stare back. I wasn't confronting you in any way, I was... mesmerized." And daydreaming. Mostly.
To the other's last words, he chuckled softly. "Well... lets solve that puzzle together then. Maybe you saw me on the streets? I doubt you have attended one of my 'concerts'... I'm too new into this sort of business." Then, something came to his mind, and Issay had to laugh to himself and his silly idea. "I came out in a magazine once!"

"Mesmerized?" he allowed himself a tiny laugh. "What on earth were you mesmerized by? Certainly not me."
As Issei listed off where he might have seen him, a lightbulb clicked on in his head. "It was a magazine! Yes!" Then another lightbulb reminded him it was a yaoi manga magazine and the younger man had been totally naked.
The guitarist suddenly looked horrified, his face the exact color of a ripe tomato.

Issay had taken a sip of his wine, starting to feel and look more comfortable now, especially to be... himself. "Oh, don't think so little of yourself. I admire your work, it warmed up my heart in a weird way to catch you staring at me." Jokes around. He almost seemed like he was trying to charm the other man.
Though, the next info that came up ahead crashed onto Issay without warnings, and for a full minute he was dead silent. Oh my God. He was too disturbed at the moment to notice how damn cute Toshihiko looked, red like a tomato. "...Well." he swallowed.
"You mean, _that_ magazine... That is... a surprise." What was he supposed to say now?! "Did you buy it? Or..." probably not that. Oh, God. Toshihiko Takamizawa was gay.
And a light bulb just switched on inside Issay's head. What... lovely news those were! And yes, he was now pondering about asking the other man out.

He was frozen. He didn't know what to do. Toshihiko wanted to run away and hide for the rest of his life. He'd just inadvertently outed himself to a stranger, right at the birth of his own super stardom.
"I.." he couldn't breathe. He felt like he was on the path to fainting dead on the floor. Black began to rise in his vision, Issei's face a blur. Shit, he was about to faint dead on the floor.
The red of his cheeks had been replaced with ghastly white, and he stood up with such force his chair fell over backwards.
"I've got to--"
The adrenaline got the better of him however, and he crumpled to the floor in a heap.

Issay was taking it easy, despite the fact that The Alfee's guitar man had seen his butt. Actually, that was the reason of it. It was quite exciting, while also awkward. "Just so you know, I did it for the cash." He had no problem with posing naked, but for a yaoi manga magazine?... awful.
Though, Issay's awkward - and rather brilliant and pretty - smiles were replaced by a full face of concern. Toshihiko had just turned dangerously white right before his eyes, and Issay reached out to touch his arm. "It is okay! I'm not..." but the other man was soon powerfully standing up, and Issay did the same to try to stop him and make things alright. Oh, no. No no no no no.
"T-Takamizawa-san!" Luckily, and almost too late he caught the other man before he crashed on the floor, laying him carefully so the blood would return to his brain. And, of course, every one started surrounding them, worried about what Issay had done to the poor rising superstar. "Takamizawa-san? Oh God, please wake up..." what a timing to kill a famous, loved musician... with his ass.

He woke up with a gasp to see everyone standing over him. The brunette blinked hard as he forced himself to remember what happened, then quickly and embarrassedly waved them all off with insists that he was alright.
Toshihiko turned his gaze on Issei, still looking slightly horrified, but moreso overwhelmed that he'd passed out in the first place.
"I'm... sorry..."

Issay had been holding his breath, and finally exhaled when Toshihiko came back to his senses. "Thank God..." he helped the other to sit up. Thank God, he did not kill anyone. "You scared the hell out of me! Jesus..." a sigh of relief came next.
"It is okay... I should be the one saying that. I'm sorry I made you feel so desperate that you fainted. I wanted to tell you, before it happened... you don't have to worry. I won't tell anyone." He checked if anyone was listening or too close. And then, Issay whispered. "I'm also... you know. Into guys. I know how hard that is."
